Activist Art

“As a teacher and artist I thought I was far from political activism, so it came as something of a surprise to find myself involved in the movement for nuclear disarmament. Out of this concern evolved a series of banners combining my landscapes with phrases from Helen Caldecott’s book Nuclear Madness. I started with the phrase ‘Each of us must accept total responsibility for the earth’s survival.'” — Connie Smith Siegel

These banners were shown at a great variety of occasions, including benefit concerts and large rallies for anti-nuclear, peace, and environmental organizations. Click below to learn about Purchasing Posters or Cards.
